Two different technical tours will be offered to delegates during the conference, one of them sponsored by AMTA. Registration to them is mandatory and can be done at the registration desk, on a first come first served basis. Please note that due to the transportation to the different sites, a minimum fee of 10CHF must be charged to the attendees.
AMTA Technical Visit to Küblis Powerplant
The Küblis Powerplant is an abbey-like power plant dating back to 1922 located in the city of Küblis. The power plant is listed as one of the building of cultural relevance in the “Swiss Inventory of Cultural Property of National and Regional Significance”. Some of its technical specifications are:

Regional control center for production and power distribution network
Machine room and the powerplant
Pipes and water distribution lines
Outdoor switching system (approximately 10 minutes outside if it is not raining)
Snow and Avalanche Institute in Davos
Tours at the Snow and Avalanche Institute in Davos will be organized on Tuesday 12th April 2016 at 10:00 and 14:00. The tours will include a visit through the facilities of the institute in Davos and will provide an overview of their work, concerning specially snow, avalanches and other natural hazards, including links to climate change. Scientists working at the institute will also be available and giving short presentation of their work and be ready to answer questions that the visitors have.
